I Need Help
I am contemplating suicide
‘Hear for You’ have a confidential answering machine. You will be able to speak to one of our counsellors to make an appointment, get more information about the service or receive telephone support.
If you have had suicidal thoughts, we are here to listen and help.
We can provide a 1 to 1 confidential counselling service where you can talk to a professionally qualified counsellor at a local meeting place or at home. Suicide recognises no age, social, ethnic or cultural boundaries - neither do we. Our groups are open to any individual.
Our service is available Monday to Sunday.
We have a variety of appointment times and also have the option of home visits.

I have been bereaved by suicide
‘Hear for You’ exists to meet the needs and break the isolation of those bereaved by the suicide of a close relative or friend.
The ripple effect after a suicide touches so many people, from spouses, partners, parents, children, colleagues, friends, neighbours and more.
This service will allow people to talk about their feelings. A space to explore their loss, their questions, and their pain with someone experienced and qualified.
Call us on 0300 303 2892. We are here to listen.
I am concerned about a friend or family member
Any counselling provided is completely confidential.
Most people who feel suicidal don't really want to die, they just want to end the pain.
Here are some of the signs that may indicate someone may take their own lives...
- Previous suicide attempts
- Talk of, or preoccupation with, death or dying
- Showing signs of depressions
- Self-harming
- Loss of interest in daily life, hobbies, self or others
- Sudden changes in mood/behaviour
- Making final arrangements - giving away prized possessions
- Substance and/or alcohol abuse
- Suffering a recent loss/bereavement

I would like to arrange a group talk
There were 672 suicides registered in Scotland in 2015, with suicide rates in the most deprived areas, double that of the Scottish average.
We aim to reduce the stigma attached to suicide, by encouraging people to talk openly about it.
‘Hear for You’ can visit your school, company or group to talk about suicide prevention, the warning signs and the support available to those who may be contemplating suicide or who have been affected by the suicide of friend, colleague or family member.
Call us on 0300 303 2892 to arrange a group talk.
